Member's Story
My name is Jane and I write in regards to my fiance's situation. Dave has been separated and divorced since 2001. I did not meet Dave until 2004. In the past 7 years there have been on going court battles with Dave always on the defensive end. His ex-wife is constantly coming up with false allegations that are always thrown out in court (once they get there). Dave was granted Joint custody where he exercised his rights every other weekend, certain holidays, and 2 weeks of vacation a year. After every visitation there was always some absurd allegation whether through a phone call, letter, or attorneys. Dave and I most recently moved out of state to distance ourself from this woman. As a result, she went into an all out campaign to destroy Dave. She made false allegations to CYS with horrible allegations of things he did to his daughter. The report of abuse was unfounded. As a result Dave had to give up his visitation for the summer and time being as he lives in fear as to what her motives are and what she brainwashes the children with. He did not give up his legal custody rights of the children. Her main goal is to destroy him as he is a teacher and she attempts to contact his place of work. Dave has been attempting to call his children and his ex-wife changed the telephone number twice and then finally made it private unlisted, she also contacted all the children's doctors and stated that Dave is dangerous and a threat and no information is able to be given to him. Dave has not been able to contact his children in over 4 months. Our attorney has set up a motion to obtain her phone number and Dave's rights to the children's school and medical records. But we feel frustrated

Title IV-D
We are in contact with Alabama state Senator Jeff Sessions' office and the Alabama State Governor's office. Protect Fathers Rights is initiating a federal inquiry regarding federal funding under Title IV-D of the Social Security Welfare Reform Act.
Your stories are needed so that we can effectively report abuses resulting from government misuse of title IV. If you feel that you have been unjustly treated regarding divorce or child custody please send us your story. We will determine what grounds if any are present for a report of such abuse. We will then contact you and obtain your permission to forward the report through the appropriate channels.
Title IV was intended to protect families not to destroy them. Problems occurred when federal grants and incentives were awarded to states and local government based upon number of child support cases and money collected. This led to corruption and misuse of the Act. The result has been a complete disregard for the children's best interest and the systematic destruction of the non-custodial parent's life. We will be publishing articles and links to information regarding title IV on our website by the end of this month.

Current updates
Currently, our organization is working on the creation of a national association of family rights groups. This cooperative will help to streamline political efforts, increase resources, provide for an exchange of ideas and programs, and increase local funds. Federal grants are being researched, but the money trail is hard to follow and most grants are issued by the state's Child Support Enforcement Agency which is not being very cooperative. We are researching title IV-D of the Social Security Welfare Reform Act; which deals with child support and visitation. There are several parts under this title which allow for reporting abuse of its intentions and provides federal grant money for the protection of visitation rights. We need your story so that we can report abuses under this act. You can e-mail them to protectfathersrights@hotmail.com.
Locally in Alabama, we are working on increasing our membership base and formulating fund raising projects. The national family rights rally is being held in Washington D.C. on August 18th. Check out the website http://www.dcrally2007.com/ . We are planning on attending. Anyone interested in joining us can contact us via http://www.protectfathersrights.org/ to arrange transportation to and from the rally.
Please join our cause. We need the support of people like you to make a difference. Sign up as a member via our website so that we can show our elected officials how many people care about the children.

Father's Rights
MEMBER'S STORY:
AUTHOR: ANONYMOUS
It is a very saddening situation, having to sacrifice everything you have in order to fight for the right to be a father in you child's life. How we as Americans can continue about our lives without addressing this issue is remarkable. We worry about animals, pollution, politics, stem cells, immigration; all while the foundation of America decays around us. That foundation is the American family and the pursuit of the American Dream.
You hear stories of dead beat dad's and absent fathers. Do you know their side of the story? I used to cringe and scour at those accused men. Now imagine that you are a man. Your marriage fails for one reason or another and now you are divorced. You have two beautiful children whom you love more than anything. The ex-spouse and you mediate the divorce and she gives you frequent and liberal visitation, because she wants you involved with your children. That wasn't so bad. You let her leave the state with the children. You take on most of the marital debt (after all, you can see your children anytime) to help your ex be free to start over. Marital debt, student loans, child support has you pretty strapped for cash but you will be OK. You move to the same town to be closer to your children. Spending time with them is priceless and all of your off time is spent with them.
Three years later, the world crashes in around you. The ex has a new boyfriend and no longer agrees to the mediated settlement. Spending time with your children takes away from the time that the other man can spend with them. That doesn't sit well with the plan to form a new family (Insert Man Here).
